“Loxly” is Deborah Carney (me), who recently moved from the East Coast (cold, snowy, rainy Rochester, NY) to San Francisco (didn’t like it there) and then in August of 2006 to sunny, warm, beautiful Las Vegas. OK, Henderson, but close enough :) People think I moved here for the casinos, I really moved here for the mountains and the desert. After 49 years on the East Coast I decided that I needed warm and sunny. There are only two places I want to live, here in Vegas or in New York City. And New York City is cold and expensive, so here I am!!! I am looking forward to traveling the southwest and since I am a professional photographer, photographing this new-to-me territory.

Loxly’s Las Vegas came about because there is just too much about LasVegas that makes you go “hummm…”, plus I wanted a place to share all my photography and digital art of the area. I have a New York City site as well, so I get to cover both cities that I love. Both New York City and Las Vegas have a unique culture that sets them apart from the rest of the world. You have to experience them as more than a tourist to “get it” and understand how great both cities are.

So grab a cup of your favorite beverage and I will start sharing my favorite places, stories that make you go “humm..” and my photos and art. Hopefully you will bookmark us and come back often to see what’s new and fun and happening, or what’s quiet and serene. Be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed too.
